19  | 縣吏受郡事而下之縣者，今皆曰祗候典，訛也。《皇朝會要》，唐藩鎮皆置邸京師，謂之上都留後院。大歷十二年，改為上都知進奏院。《摭言》：夏侯孜僕曰，擬作西川留後官，以此言之，乃借唐藩鎮留後吏目以為稱，當曰知後典也。按《皇朝會要》，宋初緣舊制，藩鎮皆置人為進奏官，軍監、場務、轉運使則差知後官，或副知掌之。太平興國八年，汰進奏知後官，存百五十人，並充進奏官，罷知後官之名。咸平五年，復令進奏官各置守闕副知一名。泰之所云祗候典，當為知後者是矣，而以為法唐藩鎮吏目以為稱則誤。蓋知後官之名乃國初所創，下於進奏官一等，非唐之舊名也。 |
